Damage Limitation for ‘Dodgy’ Ladders

"Don't get done with a ‘dodgy’ ladder", that's the message from Bolton-based Ladderstore.com for companies who don't keep a careful eye on their ladders and risk the health and safety of their staff. The company's message is in support of the 2010 Ladder Exchange which starts on 1st September with Ladderstore an HSE campaign partner for the fourth year.

Ladderstore is 'Working Well' with White Van Man

Access solutions provider Ladderstore, has just completed a 'white-van' roadshow with Working Well Together's Haydock Group, visiting nine construction sites in the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire areas.

This latest series of events was organized by Working Well Together which is a partnership between the Health & Safety Executive and local businesses to improve health and safety in the construction industry. In the words of WWT;

"Every year thousands of construction workers in the UK are killed, injured or have their health damaged. The working well together campaign aims to stop the suffering."

Ladder Association Says 'Don't Be A Ladder Lightweight'

With some 2 million ladders thought to be in daily use, they remain an invaluable piece of workplace equipment. However, the majority of users have never received any formal training in the way they should be positioned and used. That's why the association is now campaigning for professional training in all aspects of ladder use, including risk assessment and inspection.

"If it's right to use a ladder, use the right ladder and get trained to use it safely."
