September 1st saw the launch of the 2009 HSE ladder safety campaign and once again Ladderstore is one of the campaign partners. As a provider of ladders, bespoke access solutions, ladder safety tagging systems and safety training, Ladderstore is well placed to support the initiative.

Through the Ladder Exchange initiative, the HSE will be providing employers with the opportunity to exchange bent, broken or battered ladders for new ones at a discounted price.

Safe access and egress to the top decks of double deck trailers is becoming an issue as their popularity increases. City Link approached Ladderstore with their concerns and asked if they could help design a bespoke solution that would suit both double deck trailers and single deck trailers.

Ladderstore worked with City Link to design a bespoke mobile access step that could provide safe access to single and double deck articulated trailers and 7.5 tonne vehicle beds.

Safety when loading and unloading vehicles has been placed firmly in the HSE's sights this year and you can see why from the statistics. Falls from vehicles are the second most common vehicle-related accidents in the workplace accounting for 1600 injuries and 4 deaths last year.

Finding the most effective way to access roofs and to meet HSE regulations is something that Tommy Deans at Aquashield was keen to achieve.

Tommy was keen to source the very best roof access solution, so when the company's local H&S Inspector suggested a particular ladder staging system supplied by Ladderstore that might fit the bill, Tommy was keen to explore its benefits and compare it to the scaffold towers and roof ladders they currently used.
